About us
Over the 75 years Coleman Group has been established we have remained innovative and forward-thinking.
Our company is devoted to providing the best experience to our clients and delivering unprecedented high-quality products and services.
Established in 1948, Coleman Group has over 70 years of experience within the Signage Industry. This experience, accompanied by the investment and market knowledge of the two owners Glenn Coleman and Rod Peter has grown the company into the multi-million dollar signage giant it is today.
Coleman Group was initially founded by Robert Coleman as R.B. Coleman (Signs) Pty Ltd. In 1948 signage was a completely different industry, less about printing (as the technology did not exist) and more about hand-painting. R.B. Coleman (Signs) Pty Ltd was responsible for a large amount of shopfront and billboard painting, sports event advertisements and vehicle decoration. Robert soon passed the business on to his son Bruce Coleman who rebranded the company as ‘Coleman Signs’. Under the leadership of Bruce, Coleman Signs bought one of the first computerised vinyl cutters – which changed the signage industry. In 1994 Coleman Signs purchased their first printer which was used to print decals onto weathertex.
In 1997 Coleman Signs entered into the new market of scrolling signage units. This brought in a large amount of business in the sporting industry and changed how the company operated on a day-to-day basis. In 1999 the Melbourne Storm NRL team purchased 100 units from Coleman Signs – the first big purchase from any sporting stadium, proving the potential of the technology in the signage industry. Towards the end of the 1990s, Bruce handed the business down to his son Glenn who later rebranded the company as ‘Coleman Group’ under the then 'Business Development Manager', Rod Peter.
Coleman Group entered the exhibition industry in 2003, creating a sister company, ‘FABframe’, and in 2009 Rod Peter joined Glenn in partnership to aid in the management of the business. After years of growing success, the brand expanded internationally and in 2012 spawned the worldwide extrusion brand ‘REXframe’. These two companies now work in tandem with Coleman Group and have grown immensely over the passing years.
